BIO:
My approach as a photographer is deeply rooted in visual storytelling and documentary photography. I strive to bring that framework to every job as a photographer, videographer, and photojournalist.
Over the past several years, I have been pursuing independent photo and video projects in Kentucky as I strive to better myself as a multimedia creator. I have been focusing on Appalachian stories, music photography, portraiture and alternative process photography.
I obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Convergent Media with an added double minor in Photography and Philosophy from Morehead State University in 2020.
In addition to freelance reporting and photography, I was a reporter for The Kentucky Standard where I focused on education, community features and local news.
Other experience includes completing the week-long Mountain Workshop, hosted by Western Kentucky University, in the photo editing and photojournalism categories. I regularly work for Edison Research on election nights where I calculate local voting numbers for the National Election Pool.
Often on assignment alone, I have worked for multiple outlets simultaneously, which required a variety of skills including AP style writing and reporting, photography, videography, and audio production, in addition to the post-production editing of them all.
My work has been featured in the Lexington Herald-Leader, The Kentucky Standard, The Daily Independent, The Richmond Register and other community newspapers in Kentucky, as well as associated magazines.
